Is this right for my child?
Does your child:
-
Go to the bathroom frequently (more than eight times daily) or infrequently (fewer than three times daily)
-
Struggle with wetting the bed (at five years or older)
-
Can't wait to go to the bathroom when they have an urge
-
Struggle with constipation (fewer than five bowel movements per week)
-
Frequently have leaks (bowel or bladder)
-
Have an aversion to toileting and bathroom environment
If so, they may benefit from an evaluation.
What to expect.
Non-invasive evaluation: Internal exams are not completed in the pediatric population.
Education on bladder and bowel function and health: Age-appropriate education regarding the function of the bowel and bladder, proper posture on the toilet, breathing techniques, hygiene and more.
Treatment: A specific treatment plan will be developed for each patient based on evaluation and bladder and bowel diaries.
